FROM THE MYTHOLOGICAL APOLLO

TO HAPOLO MAGAZINE

The wisdom of the mythological gods has transcended into the modern era in various ways. Find out how our magazine identifies itself with the god Apollo.

Long curly hair, perfect features, athletic body: this was Apollo, the Greek god of beauty, the arts, and healing; the same one that also represented moderation, harmony, and balance; the one who believed in the power of law and order, and the one who advocated knowledge in general.

Son of the most powerful of the Olympian gods, Zeus, and of the Titaness Leto, Apollo was also a beloved deity not only for being tall, young, and beautiful but also for being related to positive facets inherent to the human being, such as music, poetry, health, and medicine.

They say that he was good at predicting the future, hence his fortune-telling skills; he was associated with nature, especially forests, and he had many children, including Orpheus, who inherited his musical abilities, and Asclepius, who absorbed his medical knowledge.

Due to the attributes associated with him, he appears in his statues with a laurel wreath, a later symbol of triumph. He is also usually shown as the great shooter he was, with his bow and arrows in the quiver and with the lyre, since he was not only a defender of melodies but also the leader of the Muses, in charge of artistic inspiration.

Unsurprisingly, his history and influence have transcended until today. More than handsome, powerful, and brave, this god possessed qualities worth considering that, without the slightest doubt, have great validity, repercussion, and importance in modernity.

Hapolo magazine lives up to his legacy. We wanted our publication to have his implicit name, plus an «h» in front, which refers to three peculiarities that distinguished him very well: handsome, harmonious, and healthy.

We also wanted his name on our magazine because Hapolo focuses on art, health and culture, topics that, in turn, include issues related to well-being, such as singing, medical treatments, physical exercises, aesthetics.

Our objective is to give free rein to creativity, entertainment, and the integration of those decisive aspects for the development of the human being. Therefore, we want our rea-ders to be informed, inspired, and entertained by our materials: articles, reports, interviews, travel chronicles, and motivational stories.

In short, we hope that Apollo does not remain ethereal on the Gods of Olympus, wandering forever and ever like the great god that he was: we want his inheritance for humanity, which has come in so many ways to us, to be more concrete, more daily, more attainable.

Dear reader, beauty must be everywhere; music, in our way of seeing life, and health, at the top of our priorities. Feel invited to this noble effort. At Hapolo magazine, there is a place for everyone.
